Sneak Preview: SF Horrible Slime Iray

Now accepted for testing at Daz, out sometime in April probably, this is our set of slime props and shaders for Daz Studio 4.9 with Iray.  The goo tentacle has a suction cup morph that is shown, and you can see one of the drip props in the background.  Fuseling has done some glorious jelly and goo shaders for this, there's just so much more we can do with this engine than we could do with 3Delight! 

Once you get into transmissive/translucent objects Iray is FASTER than 3Delight and the results look better (3Delight would choke and die on the scene shown above from the glassware in the background alone, let alone the goo).

I've been refining my skin shaders further.  Since the 4.9 changes even the latest BSI shaders have a bit too much translucency/transmission.  I usually turn translucency down to .35 and SSS to .4, as I did with Henryk here (who uses our BSI maps along with his own).  More and more I use photometrics as much as mesh lights when I'm using environments that are so reflective.

I am not sure what the goo drips will do for this modern armored warrior. It looks like his armor can repel the slime.
