Another of the Shackled renders at a larger size.  The chains, posing and key are from the set (except that I lifted her head, in the pose preset it's down).

Skins are from the Dark Elves set by Ignis Serpentis.  I hope she does a male one with gens at some point - I use this one ALL the time in promos on both sexes, but I'd love to have it for my artistic nudes etc. here on dA as well.  I've got an ongoing promo thread of colorful elf-on-elf violence that runs through many products.

The wall is Stonemason's Modular Ruins, and the bird is one of Ken Gilliand's, regrettably no longer available at DAZ (he now sells at HiveWire).  I think of it as Bugsby's Giant Mythic Wren.

When I was in the hospital (knee was gutted...thanks arthritis!) at 3am the nurse came by to check the circulation in my foot ('cause blood clots suck I hear). She stroked her finger up the sole of my foot, than had to pry me off the ceiling. Nope...circulation was doing just fine!

I do LOVE this render (was an awesome promo too!) I really like your composition here, the bird with the key is soooo cool, and the wonderful expression really polishes it off. Wonder what got her in this situation... She seems gentle and kind hearted, the fellow prisoner for me totally completes this scene, Awesome work Sickle!

Aw, thank you. :)  People like this render much more than I expected!  It was kind of a quickie to replace one that was declined where the characters were similar but DAZ felt they looked too "dead" in the poses and with the skins they had.

About the gens... I love using the Ulfgens Enhanced and jepe made a wonderful texture and pose / morph set for those. This set pretty much has matching textures for pretty much every set out there, so you might be interested in that. The genitals look very realistic and are very well done, have comformers for the testicles and all that. Maybe this is an option for you?

But using them on G2M?

Totally fine. I do not autofit / conform them to the figure but move t to the right position manually and then  parent it to the models hip. It will need small adjustments after you posed G2M , but okay, this is worth the ultra realistic genitals. I use those and only those. Most of my characters even got their own maps for it but this is because I have many guys with unusal skin colors and markings. For the average human skin tones, Jepes sets pretty much offer it all. :)

Worth a try, at least. :)  Is it Jepe's JURG 3.0 that you start with?

:iconmavrosh:
Mavrosh Featured By Owner Jun 3, 2014  Professional General Artist
IT is the JURG one, yes. I have no idea about the 3.0 thing though... but he is a very nice guy and also here on DA, in case you have questions. And the Ulf gens are for free! :)

As I said, you will always have to adjust the gens position after posing, but oh well, then so be it. :)

I may be able to do a better weight map plus pose conversion for them.  I wish there was a good way to share .cr2 to .duf conversions, but because the geometries are packed it just doesn't work as far as requiring the base product.

Well, the base product itself is free. As long as you didn't charge, and didn't use Jepe's additions, I'd think you could redistribute that for free. (For that matter, given what Jepe actually does, you could probably sell the thing. The license for Ulfgens must be very unusual.)

Aw, she looks so hopeful!

It's not hugely difficult to make gens for those textures (although also not exactly fun), since they're all V4 UV. Most of the heavy color lifting is being done by Subsurface; I turned the settings into a shader preset and saved that off to apply to the gens as needed. Mind, I don't entirely understand how Subsurface is doing what it's doing, because a lot of the settings are either turned way down or off, but it's clear that it's doing something; I tried duplicating the setup with Uber2, and it just didn't happen. Still turned out well, but very different.

I also wouldn't expect her to do male sets. She's one of the people that's been very outspoken about the fact that her male products just didn't sell. Scorpion God, I suspect, didn't sell in part because the promo images were a bit unclear about what the product actually was, and in part because it looked like the sort of outfit that wouldn't convert well to Genesis, which was important when it came out; I've no idea why Godspeed didn't sell, apart from sheer cost. (I love the look of it, but not $26 worth. Price also probably clobbered Scorpion God along with everything else; again, I like it, but not $30 worth.)

She's going to have to hope the bird can use that key itself, or she'd better have wall-crawling ninja skills.  Actually both of those would be pretty cool. :D

Good point, and that's disappointing.  I really like her work.  She did the texture add-on for the Python too!  I've never had a problem with my male sets selling.  Maybe I should do my own gens for it as well.  There's only like two base textures in the set, and as you say, easy to save the shader preset.  I've done male gens for a V4-UV texture several times now (that being my preferred for the "The _ One" sets, which didn't sell well but were good learning experiences).

The thing with DS is that you can sell an undead without clothes, or you can sell an undead with clothes, but  you cannot sell clothes for an undead without an undead included.  That's what I think the problem was with Scorpion God, and also with Valandar's minion armor.  When I've advanced my skills base enough to make my own lich, I will sell it packaged with its own outfit.

That last paragraph highlights the problem with the promos for Scorpion God. It's not until you get to the fourth promo image that it becomes at all clear that it actually isn't a clothing set for undead; it's a clothing set for M4 generally. But by then most potential buyers are thinking the way you did, and that's such a specific use that most are no longer interested. If the main promo had been either M4 or F4, normal human looking, in that same sort of angry shouting pose -- or, frankly, in a total beefcake pose, which would have been far more effective -- then I think people would have figured it out. I don't know if it would have improved sales that much -- it's still a high price point for what the clothing appears to be -- but then people would have had a better understanding of what it is. She mentioned that Serpent Goddess, which came out roughly the same time, sold much better, even beyond what you'd expect with the normal male/female divide, but if you look at the main promo, it's absolutely clear what it is. (And honestly, now that I take a closer look at it, if it weren't a totally ridiculous price point for what I'd do with it -- and if it weren't V4 only -- I'd get Serpent Goddess in a heartbeat, for the hair if nothing else. I know the use would be limited, but I'd find a way! Maybe if it goes on sale again...)

Price points were an issue for me with these sets, too.  I don't like to pay a lot for clothing because I can't make clothing the focal point of a scene, and a set like these is too specific to reuse often in my promotional scenes.

I had a nurse appointment earlier this year; she ran through a checklist of things to figure out my physical state, and testing foot response is a part of diabeetus testing.

"Just tell me when you feel me touching soles of your feet with this pen."
*one serious footjerk later, about 10 ms after contact*
"Okay, you don't need to tell, I can see it..."

:D

You know what? You should do a pic where someone is shackled by their feet, and someone is tickling their foot with a feather, just sayin'... :D

Or a cat is walking by and pussssshing and purrrrring against their feet while they hang on the wall, feet off the ground. :D

Aw, thanks!  Mavrosh asked for the blown-up version here, so I guess she liked it best too. :)  I wanted to include female character renders without them being afraid or in pain.  I admit to liking bondage, but terror is a huge turn off for me.
